Brooke Dodwell
Home Town: Illabo NSW
Australian Stock Horse Society Representative
Brooke has spent the last three years as a farm hand on a sheep and cropping property in Illabo, where her role involves crop preparation and harvesting, as well as working with sheep. She has a strong interest in learning about the different cropping varieties and production methods and also enjoys the diversity of work that her job offers.
Alongside her farming skills, Brooke holds a Certificate in Equine Sports Massage and is also a qualified barista.
Born into a campdrafting family, Brooke has been involved in the sport her entire life and is passionate about ensuring it remains strong and family orientated.
For the past three years, she has served as secretary of the Illabo Campdraft Club, volunteering her time to the sport she loves. She has also played an active role in fundraising, including helping organise a charity auction that raised funds for Cowboy Hats for Kate, supporting brain cancer research.
Brooke is an open campdraft judge, regularly volunteering her time at campdrafts and lending a hand where she can. She has also volunteered at Nutrien, taking cattle from the sale arena.
With a strong interest in horse breeding, Brooke hopes one day to develop a team of competition horses that are entirely home bred.
A recent trip to Mongolia, where she rode reindeer and Mongolian horses, sparked a love of travel in Brooke and a desire to continue travelling to different countries and experiencing their cultures.
Brooke is looking forward to working alongside the Classic Ladies Foundation Team and contributing to the fundraising efforts for this year’s charities. She is eager to learn more about the fundraising process and how the funds raised directly benefit those in need. Brooke believes the Young Ambassador Quest will be a humbling experience and feels privileged to be able to give to those who may not have had the opportunities she has been lucky to enjoy throughout her life.
